About us
Hardanger Guide Service wants to guide you closer to the beautiful,
breathtaking landscapes and bring you more then the eye can see...

Hardangervidda has been fascinating me since my childhood.

My brother was the first one to visit this beautiful region. As a Belgian pioneer, he was travelling to Hardanger in 1973 and, by looking at the beautiful pictures from Hardangervidda,  my childhood dream was born : I would once emigrate to this fascinating country, which I finally did in 2013.

I first lived in Buskerud where I worked in the Ski Resort Norefjell. In april 2015 I finally moved down to Eidfjord where I started to work inthe summerseason in the “Hardangervidda Natursenter” - now called the Norsk Natursenter - and, in the winterseason, I still work on Hardangervidda in case of  convoy driving over the plateau during bad weather conditions.

My first holiday in Norway, however, was in 1986 and brought me to Jotunheimen, after which I travelled nearly each year back to explore different parts in the South of Norway.

In 1992, I started to work in the tourist branch in Brussels. Many years of experience in the travel industry -          organising Group Travel, Incentive Travel, Business Travel and Guided Tours -  together with a language education and my passion for Hardanger and its inhabitants persuaded me to start Hardanger Guide Service.

I have always been extremely interested in the History of the Vikings and started in 2006 with viking reenactment, both in Belgium and Gudvangen in Sogn og Fjordane. In the winter of 2016 my partner and me joined the Eidfjord Historielag to find out more about the local history and, in 2017, we founded together Ravenheart, which is bringing Living History in Hardanger mainly from theViking Age.
